History
Alana brings a great deal of new knowledge and passion to her practice as a dietitian. She is eager to break some of the common misconceptions associated with dietitians and relieve some of the hesitancies that may come with seeing an RD. Her vision is to empower individuals to take control of their health and well-being to lead a better life.
Alana’s passion for nutrition developed naturally from her love for sports and seeing the direct impact that nutrition and proper diet has on performance. She grew up in a small rural Alberta town playing a variety of sports including badminton, basketball, volleyball, and of course, running (cross country, track and field et al.). She ran her first half marathon at the age of 14 and the spark only grew bigger from there.
