How It Works

Step-by-step guide to working with a dietitian and nutritionist

Are you looking to book an appointment with a registered dietitian and nutritionist? Here’s how the process works:

If you’re interested in booking a nutritional counselling appointment, skip to number 2.

If you have some questions before proceeding to book an appointment, schedule a free phone consultation where one of our administrators can answer them. You can also use a contact form to send us your questions directly.

After looking at our services page, please visit the packages and pricing page. Take a look and decide which package appeals to you the most.

a) First, select 1 of 2 options: Single Session without a meal plan or 2 Sessions with a meal plan.

b) Then, decide if you’d like to purchase follow-up sessions. Most of our clients do. You can purchase 1, 3, 5 or 10 follow-up sessions. This largely depends on your needs and goals.

Next decide if you’d like to receive nutrition counselling in person at one of our locations or virtually.

You can now join most of our clients who resort to virtual counselling. Rest assured, it’s just as effective.

If you prefer to have your sessions conducted in person, please take a look at all of our office locations.

Please note: We do conduct virtual nutritional counselling for the residents of all provinces and territories.

Find a practitioner who conducts nutritional counselling in your province.

Decide which practitioner suit your needs and goals best. If you need advice making the selection, contact us and we will help.

We also encourage you to check your insurance coverage as you may have annual coverage for a nutritionist, dietitian, or both.

Learn more about our practitioners and their areas of expertise

Simply get in touch with us, and we’ll let you know what appointment time slots are available. Don’t forget to specify:

  • which package is of interest to you
  • whether you’d like to receive counselling in-person or virtually
  • which practitioner you’d like to work with
  • if you select in-person, let us know at which location

We then book an appointment.

After booking an appointment for the initial session, we will send you an intake form. The form is designed to give our nutritionists and dietitians a clearer, more in-depth picture of your health concerns and goals. This allows us to serve you better.

We ask you to fill out the form and return it digitally prior to the initial session.

During the first appointment (i.e. initial session) we will review the contents of the intake form, provide a thorough educational component, discuss your concerns, address your goals, make suggestions, answer questions, and so on.

This 30-minute session is dedicated exclusively to meal planning. With your input, we will go over how the meal plan will look like and how to navigate it.

We will then spend time collecting information from you, so we can do our best to personalize your meal plan based on the foods you enjoy eating, your lifestyle, dietary conditions, cultural and religious restrictions, budget, and so on.

We work with foods from around the world!

A few days after the meal planning session, you will receive the personalized meal plan. The meal plan is designed to help you navigate your way through meals, so you can get started on your way to reaching your goal.

You will also receive a variety of helpful tips and important guidelines to help you navigate tricky situations. You will receive recipes, too.

After the initial session, we schedule weekly or biweekly follow-up nutritional counselling sessions, as our schedules permit (if applicable). The sessions are used to check in, monitor progress, make adjustments, answer questions, etc.

If for whatever reason you’re unable to make it to your appointment, we ask that you notify us at least 24 hours in advance. That said, however, the more time you can give us, the better we can serve all clients—including you.

Please keep in mind that payment is due upon the completion of each session, after you receive the invoice.

We accept the following methods of payment: credit card or electronic money transfer.
