Qualifications
Tammy Lomond, RD, MSc
Tammy Lomond is a graduate of the Nutrition and Dietetics program at the University of Western Ontario. She completed an accredited dietetic internship with The Ottawa Hospital Dietetic Internship program to become a Registered Dietitian (RD).
Before studying nutrition, Tammy completed a Masters of Science in Biology at Memorial University of Newfoundland, and worked in greenhouse and field crop research for several years. She has a passion for research and, after completing her Dietetic internship, she served as a Research Advisor for subsequent interns of The Ottawa Hospital Dietetic Internship program.
Tammy is licensed with the College of Dietitians of Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador College of Dietitians, the College of Dietitians of Ontario, and is an active member of Dietitians of Canada.
History
Prince Edward Island-based dietitian, Tammy, has 20 years of experience in various settings including hospitals, community health care centres, home-care and private practice.
As a result, she is knowledgeable in a broad range of nutrition related health issues, from general healthy eating and weight management to chronic diseases, including diabetes, heart disease, renal failure and cancer.
Tammy offers personalized and client-centred nutrition counselling, with a realistic, down-to-earth and supportive approach.
She enjoys helping clients break through the vast misinformation and confusion related to food–she takes a simple, clear approach to making healthy food choices, balancing meals and making all foods fit.
